Braiiiiiiins.

I can't stop thinking about these boots, and whether they are (a) rad enough to fuel my inner ageing punk or (b) bit dodgy for a very wee, mature person.

I do already possess ankle boots, but...

In other news: I watched Sarah Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric. Apparently she knows all about foreign policy because her state has borders with other countries, that are foreign.

*headheadheadheaddesk*

She confuses me. She presumably can't really be as dumb as she appears, in that she's a governor? Surely?

Also, can someone explain to me how pro-life can go with pro-hunting?

Oooooooooooh I love the boots! :)

They are nice. They're Clarks, actually, which is verrry strange, but I know their ankle boots are damned comfortable.

Absolutely go with the boots. Attitude, not altitude should be your guide. And you have no lack of that :)

There is a school of thought that Palin really is as dumb as she appears, and it's growing in strength.

Nice icon. ;-)

I'll think on't. I met a lady at a meeting yesterday who was holding one of those ultra-designer handbags - the £900 variety - and ever since, I have been in some economic alternate universe where I can easily justify the odd couple of quid at the lower end of the British high street. I mean 'cheaper', not 'lower' (although there's that too...)

She's absolutely unbelievable.

Buuuuuuuuuyyyyyyyy theeeeeeeeeeeeemmmmmmm.

Were I you, I'd buy them on looks alone, but the fact that they're Clarks, and thus comfortable AND indestructable? WIN.

As for Sarah, by that token she should be good at foreign policy because she shares a surname with a famous world-traveller/ex-Python...

They had sold out of my size :( BUT I tried them on in a too-big size and discovered they are platform boots sekritly. Be still my teetering, beating heart.

I will find them, preciousss. Also, little E needs purple Clarks boots and they are running a promotion with 20% off any adult shoes bought...

Possibly I now need a shoe icon.

Also, have you been watching Lost in Austen? You'd loooove it. You can catch it up on the ITV player.

Someone suggested on the radio today that he would be a much better choice. ;)

The White House incumbent was also a governor, and I don't think he's any smarter. I just hope the voters are.

I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the upcoming debate, and i'm not even American.

I saw it too. I think she is exactly as stupid as she appears.

I don't get the pro-life and pro-shooting things idea either. I'm pro-life and I don't want to kill birds, beasts or Iranians.

My husband pointed out to me that I am anti-hunting and pro-choice so may be there are some subtle difficulties here. :D

Ok, one of us has to own those boots and I am afraid it has to be you since I am lousy on high heels. They are fabulous!

I'm pretty lousy on high heels. However, i just taken them for a test drive to the corner shop and they're OK. Wouldn't want to spend the whole day in them, but they're nice. Also, inner punk is VERY happy. LOL.

They are lovely boots. You should buy them, because you deserve funky boots. I would buy them. Do they come in Jumbo?

*hugs*

R never replied to my texts, when I had no phone credit to phone him. Should I cry and consider myself a social pariah - one of those people doomed to be mentioned in that tone of voice 'she seemed ok on the net, but really, an absolute fright ...'

I heard about that interview - and I suspect that you don't have to be bright to be Governor in a country where you basically buy votes, and in a state where your partner is senior in an industry that a) earns a lot of money, and b) employs a fair number of people. *is a cynic*

My only ray of sunshine is the wonderful conversation I had with an 80+ lady from Oregon who was pro Obama (why does that look like I've spelled it incorrectly?). She and her husband, and another elderly US couple, were all sporting Obama badges, and she was a treasure to talk with. Her children (and I think grandchildren) are all voting Obama. I felt slightly better after this.

*hugs*

I bought them!!

No no no. Fret not. I do not know, but I think he was preoccupied with moving house for his friend, and working 16-hour days. He's usually pretty responsive to texts.

I'm hoping when you come back round our way that you'll consider lunch, at the very least? *makes puppy eyes*

The pro-Palin people are saying she was stitched up, but basically the interviewer was saying things like 'What are your policies?' and she couldn't come up with a coherent answer.

I did see your later post today, after having replied to the other one. Yaye! I hope we get to see them on the 11th? Yes, definitely lunch, but if you have time to spare we'd love some guidance around your city. Hopefully by then my ability to walk will be sorted and I will be up for some serious seeing of the sights.

Being a Saturday I wasn't sure if R would want to come that far as well? But I am counting on seeing you. Counting on it, I say! Our plan for that day is come over after breakfast from G where we're staying the night, and spend the day your way, then head off mid/late arvo. Your presence is absolutely required. :D

I will be blue - it will be my last day in the UK. I am already blue because there are so many places I want to stay longer, and I can't.

She has no policies, she has no information. From what I've heard quoted from her to date, I consider her to be opposed to everything that matters to me as a woman and as a human being. I am clinging to my conspiracy theory that McCain chose her to be the fall guy because he felt it was a campaign they couldn't win. Please let it be a campaign they can't win.

G to here is about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on how fast you drive. You can either park at the park'n'ride on the edge of town (free bus into town) or drive and park next to us (we're about 1.5 miles from the centre). If you cycle, you could rent bikes. ^^

I'm warning you, I'm a bit shit on the history of my own town but it's so beautiful, it scarcely matters.

Should I friend your hubby or will I scare him? *g*

hahaha, no, go friend him. You might have noticed that he's hard to scare. He'll know who you are. He's [livejournal.com profile] kayos65 :D

If you don't mind us parking near you that would be awesome - park and rides are great, but we have all our stuff in the car, and at home they're prone to be targeted by those looking for easy pickings.

I don't do cycling. I'll suggest it to C, though. He's been looking for a way to burn off some energy. Apparently falling off mountains hasn't done it for him. *sigh*

We drive fast, it's the UK traffic that's slow. ;) - If we get away on time that would put us to you maybe around 10.30 - 11.00am, I think.

*g*
