Me and little E. went to the Ballet School Disco on Saturday night. Little E dressed herself (twice), dressed me (once) and then we went and shimmied. Actually, I watched as little E. danced to various cheesy pop hits with a look of seriously fierce concentration on her face.
Little E likes the Scissor Sisters and dodgy R'n'B.
On the way back, little E. told me it was the happiest she had in been in her whole life ever.
But! That was before Sunday, when we met up with
delilly and her lovely friend, to go and look at the mummies in the British Museum. These were both gruesome and beyond cool. (The mummies that is). Honestly! I had never ever been. Mind-blowing stuff around every corner, personally looted from all four corners of the earth by Victorian explorers. We managed two galleries, tea and some mummy pencil tins, and shall be back.
My own best part was that the train was so crowded on the way back that I had to have a small girl half-asleep cuddled on my lap. She'll soon be too big for it, in more ways than one, and it's lovely to have a good excuse for a huggle. /sappy.
